Description

We invite papers that address title of the panel that explores external shocks and crises from the natural, economic or political environment and impacts upon public sector human resources in terms of capacities, management, morale, stress and employment relations. The SIG seeks to explore the impact of shocks and crises on the justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (JEDI) goals within the field of human resources. We welcome new and innovative research methodological approaches and methods to study HRM in the public sector. The topics for the panel seek to explore from diverse methodological lenses:

  • The challenges for public sector HR and HRM from shocks and crises, in particular learning from COVID19
  • HR management, populism and wokenism
  • New avenues and innovations for HRM and JEDI
  • New approaches for HRM in the public sector in the global South
  • Blue collar work in the public sector

We welcome new research, comparative studies, and encourage various types of research methodologies from systematic literature reviews, to qualitative and interpretive research, quantitative and positivist research, experimental research, and innovative methodologies.
