IRSPM O’Leary prize and Routledge lifetime achievement award 2023 - Winners announced!

We are extremely excited to announce the winners of the IRSPM Rosemary O’Leary Prize and IRSPM Routledge Prize for 2023!

The 2023 IRSPM Rosemary O’Leary Prize is awarded to…

Trang Hoang, Jiwon Suh and Meghna Sabharwal for their paper “Beyond a Numbers Game? Impact of Diversity and Inclusion on the Perception of Organizational Justice”, published in Public Administration Review in 2022.

The IRSPM Rosemary O’Leary Prize was inaugurated in 2019 to recognize excellent scholarship on women in public administration, broadly defined. It is named after Professor Rosemary O’Leary, an outstanding public management scholar in her own right and a previous IRSPM Routledge Lifetime Achievement Award winner.

This article was chosen for the substantial contribution it makes to scholarship on women and public administration. Trang Hoang, Jiwon Suh and Meghna Sabharwal are the fifth winners of this prize, which was decided upon by a panel of IRSPM board members: Professor Ileana Steccolini (IRSPM President and Chair of the panel), Professor Ines Mergel, and Professor Eris Schoburg, with the support of Eva Thomann, IRSPM awards coordinator.

The 2023 IRSPM Routledge Lifetime Achievement Award is awarded to…

Professor Jenny M Lewis for her outstanding, impactful and lasting scholarly contribution to the field of public management and policy implementation. Jenny Lewis is Professor of Public Policy, an expert on policy making, policy design and public sector innovation, and a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences Australia with outstanding academic achievements. Jenny Lewis has made core contributions to the study of networked and marketized governance. Her work is widely cited and has received multiple research grants within Australia and internationally. She is the author of six books, and more than 80 journal articles and book chapters. Jenny Lewis also stands out through her service to the community. She is a previous President of the Australian Political Studies Association and was the founding Director of The Policy Lab. As the former President of the International Research Society for Public Management, Jenny Lewis has contributed substantially to the cause and events of IRSPM.

Jenny is the 17th winner of the IRSPM Routledge Prize which recognizes an outstanding lifetime contribution to public management research. This prize was chaired by Ileana Steccolini, IRSPM president, with the support of Eva Thomann, IRSPM awards coordinator, and voted by the IRSPM board.

Prof. Jenny M Lewis will present a keynote lecture Innovation policy, policy on innovation, and innovating government organizations. What do we know so far? on Wednesday, 5 April at 11:00 (CEST).

The award ceremony will take place on Tuesday, 4 April during the Gala dinner at 19:00 in the Aula - Main (E) Building.
