This webinar focuses on guiding participants through the process of developing and writing conceptual papers. It covers the key aspects such as:
- Talk about why writing conceptual or theoretical papers is important for our field
- Some common misconceptions about conceptual work
- Review different forms of theoretical/conceptual papers
- Some exercises to help you think about how to start writing a conceptual paper
Jessica E. Sowa is a professor at the Joseph R. Biden, Jr. School of Public Policy and Administration at the University of Delaware. In addition to her academic role, she serves as co-editor-in-chief of Perspectives on Public Management and Governance. She was editor-in-chief of the Review of Public Personnel Administration from 2018 through 2023. In 2024, she was selected as a National Academy of Public Administration Fellow. Since 2023, she has served as a co-chair of the New Researchers Panel at the IRSPM conference.
Barbara Zyzak is an associate professor of public policy and administration in the Department of Sociology and Political Science at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Since 2023, she has also served as the New Researchers (NR) coordinator and NR panel chair at the IRSPM conference.
