Edith Cowan University's School of Business and Law is proud to host the International Research Society for Public Management (IRSPM) conference in Perth, April 8th to 10th 2026. The conference will bring together public management scholars, students and practitioners from all around the world.

Globally, public administration and those working in public, not-for-profit or hybrid organisations,  are experiencing unprecedent disruption caused by regional conflict, geopolitics, strongman leadership, austerity, economic insecurity, new technologies and artificial intelligence. In many ways, it is a "world turned upside down".

A shining light for equality, good governance and rational policy making - Edith Cowan (1861-1932), was Australia's first female parliamentarian, and who introduced laws enabling women to undertake professional careers. Building on her legacy, Edith Cowan University warmly invites your participation at the 2026 IRSPM conference in Perth. The conference theme - 'Beyond Boundaries' seeks to promote new research and debate about the role of wellbeing and innovation in the future of public management.
