IRSPM International Conference Manager - Call for application

The International Conference Manager supports the successful delivery of the IRSPM annual conference and all tasks related to its successful organisation by coordinating with the local organising committee (LOC), professional conference organisers (PCOs), and the IRSPM Board. The role is critical to ensuring smooth communication, effective planning and operational continuity across conference cycles.

The International Conference Manager will be a full member of the IRSPM Board with voting rights, contributing actively to decisions related to conference planning and the broader strategic direction of IRSPM‘s activities, as well as the strategic directions of IRSPM as a global scholarly society.

All major decisions will be made in close collaboration with and under the supervision of the IRSPM President and the IRSPM Treasurer, ensuring alignment with IRSPM’s governance, budget and strategic goals.

About the role

The Conference Manager plays a key role in supporting the strategic and operational delivery of IRSPM’s Annual Conference. This includes:

• prospection for future conference venues and hosts,      
• proposing potential venues to the Executive Board, 
• managing, safeguarding and implementing the main conference guidelines in a conference manual,     
• managing relations with local organizers, 
• managing those conference elements that are provided by IRSPM,  
• is involved in the decision-making of the call for papers and the selection of panels and the overall conference programme, 
• evaluating each conference, 
• negotiating the conference fees, and being in charge to act for any other conference-related challenges.

The International Research Society for Public Management (IRSPM) is a global network of academics and practitioners dedicated to advancing knowledge in public management and public policy. IRSPM hosts an annual international conference that brings together hundreds of scholars from around the world.

The International Research Society for Public Management (IRSPM) is inviting applications for the position of Conference Manager on the IRSPM Executive Board.

This is a volunteer-based, non-elected, appointed position for a term of three years, renewable once, for a maximum of six consecutive years. The role will begin mid-2025, following confirmation by the Executive Board.
